Llandaff Fields Dusk

I’ve just realised that so far this month I haven’t posted anything from my digital portfolio, it’s all been film related. So below is a shot taken of Llandaff Fields Park in Cardiff at dusk, using my Nikon D5200 and Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC lens and stacked ND1000 and ND Grad 0.9 filters.

Street Photography – Pride Cymru Part 4

The fourth and final instalment of my series of street photography shots taken during the Pride Cymru parade through Cardiff a few weeks ago, the other posts in this series can be found here; One, Two & Three. Hopefully you’ll enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them.

As with all of the previous photos these are taken with my Olympus OM-1 using either a 50mm Auto Zuiko 1:1.8 or Vivitar 28mm 1:2.8 lens on Fomapan Classic 100 monochrome film.

Street Photography – Pride Cymru Part 1

This is the first in what will become a four part series of shots taken during the Pride Cymru march through Cardiff City centre a week or so ago. I’ve always felt a little weird about street photography, I love how it can look and I really like the types of images that come out of it but I just feel very uncomfortable photographing strangers. That’s why an even like this worked so well for me, people expect there to be lots of camera’s and let their guard down, you’re just one of dozens on photographers in the crowd, exactly what I needed to get the confidence to do this.

So below are five images taken during Pride Cymru, all are taken on Fomapan Classic 100 film using my Olympus OM1 with either an F.Zuiko Auto-S 50mm 1:1.8 or Vivitar 1:2.8 28mm lens. More will follow in future posts.

Speaker

Speaker 28mm Agfa Vista Plus 200 f4 1000th sec

Summers day in the park, music playing out of this Bluetooth speaker, sunburn, annoyed people telling you to turn it down, arguments with strangers, some kid hitting you in the head with a stray ball, someone’s dog pooping a bit too close to where you’re sitting for comfort. Ah the park.

Rich

Rich 28mm Agfa Vista Plus 200 f11 125th sec A relaxing summer beer on a relaxing summer’s evening, relaxing in the park. This is my friend Rich drinking a beer in what can only be described as a “disturbing fashion” during a barbecue in the park.

Rose

Rose 28mm Agfa Vista Plus 200 f8 250th sec

Probably not a rose, I know nothing about flowers. I do however know about colour, and this colour is something I like a lot. The bright yellow and greens all throughout this image, it’s lively, it’s fresh and it’s nature in it’s wonderfully punchy glory.
