Street Photography – Pride Cymru Part 3

Hello again, welcome to part three of my street photography showcase of the Pride Cymru march through Cardiff a few weeks ago. Parts ONE & TWO can be found by following the links by there. This selection has probably some of my favourite shots that I took that day.

As previously these are all taken with my Olympus OM-1 on Fomapan Classic 100 monochrome film using either an Auto Zuiko 50mm or Vivitar 28mm lens.

11 28mm Fomapan Classic 100 f8 125th

28mm f8 1/125th sec. The guy in the centre holding the huge banner has clocked me and is staring right at us, the lone person in the crowd who is looking right out of the picture and straight at the viewer. He’s nicely framed by the banner he’s holding and the banner behind him.

12 50mm Fomapan Classic 100 f8 125th

50mm f8 1/125th sec. These guys looked amazing, the groom with his massive feathered top hat and the bride with the elegant gown and (although you can’t see in this shot) the finest stick on glittery silver beard I’ve ever seen. Characters is I think how you would describe them.

13 50mm Fomapan Classic 100 f8 125th

50mm f8 1/125th sec. What was I saying about characters? Her majesty herself, or perhaps not, leading the head of the parade through the streets. This guy certainly knows how to dress for the occasion.

14 50mm Fomapan Classic 100 f5

50mm f5.6 1/125th sec. Double meaning perhaps? Gay Pride? Or pride in the uniform? Either way this Police Officer stands out here, framed by the balloon lettering behind.

15 50mm Fomapan Classic 100 f5

50mm  f5.6 1/125th sec. Again the subjects holding the balloon letters are framing themselves with their own letters, the R and D especially. The background crowd stands out also, particularly the girl between the P and R with the dragon banner above her head.
