Project 52: Week 14; Landscape – Zoomed In

OK I will admit it, this project has turned into more of a look back through my portfolio to find images that fit into each week’s brief rather than me going out and actively shooting. But then again, is that such a bad thing? I get to share images I probably wouldn’t have with you guys and I also get to look back through, admittedly some truly horrible, previous photo’s I’ve taken.

This week the subject is Landscape : Zoomed In. Does what it say’s on the tin eh? Most landscape images I take are wide and sweeping, usually of the sea of rolling hills and valley’s, the idea of this is a landscape image that’s more compact, cropped down, tight and focused on a particular subject in that landscape. Now For this I went back through my portfolio and came across a few that probably fitted the bill but that I wasn’t totally happy with sharing, mainly because I would say I don’t think I really knew what I was doing with my camera’s or my photography up until the last year or so. This image I think work’s as it’s a scene I have photographed in a standard format but then also taken this from much closer up, it was taken back in Feb 2015.

So this is a bridge across the River Ogmore, as I said this image was taken over a year ago, I wasn’t totally happy with it so I re-edited it slightly, mainly adding a ND Grad filter effect to darken what was an overblown sky and touch up the exposure in the foreground. I think this fit’s the brief quite well, landscape but zoomed in to a subject. What do you think?
