Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; 31

Part thirty two of my continuing Olympus OM-D EM-5 street photography series, we’re still heavily into the images I took across March so there’s plenty more to come.

Tracks.jpg ISO 200, f4, 1/1250th sec. Little bit annoyed I didn’t get the rail lines directly dead centre in this image but I’m still relatively pleased with it, there’s lots of lines leading of into the distance and converging, the railway itself, the platforms, the lampposts, the fencing. Then there’s the big, fluffy cloud filled sky that takes up a large portion of the image as well, I like this.

Vaping.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/1250th sec. Annoyingly I took an image before and after with a lot more vapour floating around this guy’s face but they didn’t come out at all, obviously my fat fingers didn’t mash the shutter release button hard enough. I still like it as this is what I was hoping for, I stood watching this guy looking into the window of an e-cigarette shop for at east five minutes trying to capture a shot with the vapour from his e-cigarette hanging in the air in front of him, I’m relatively happy with how this came out.

Viewing.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/1250th sec. The background church isn’t quite as blurred and out of focus as I would’ve hoped but I think it’s just enough to make your eyes wander to the main subject of the image;man stood looking out of the railings.

Violinist 2.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/640th sec. As you’ll see shortly I took a few images of this busking violinist, who was very good to be fair, I liked the contrast of his dark clothes and very light hair, it made it look like his body was in the shadows but his head wasn’t.

Violinist.jpg ISO 400, f4, 1/1000th sec. A slightly different image of the same subject, I made sure there was nobody in the frame except the busker so stood around waiting for an opening to shoot this. I wanted there to be a lot of empty space with just him emerging from under the shadows behind him.
