Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; 67

Welcome to another edition of my street photography series, these are all taken on the streets of Cardiff and as always are with my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux 1:1.4 lens. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts.

Blowing Bubbles.jpg ISO 200, f4, 1/2000th sec. A guy was blowing giant bubbles with a stick and ring in the city centre, I assume the woman lying down was with him as he kept talking to her, but I have no idea why she was lying there or why he was blowing bubbles for pennies. A really odd way to busk for change, although different considering the number of people playing guitar, well or badly, you see around.

Cafes.jpg ISO 200, f4, 1/100th sec. I really like the pattern of the railings here but what I also like is how they and the path curves away into the distance leading to the couple walking, they’re nicely framed by the tree branches hanging down as well.

Crepes.jpg ISO 200, f4, 1/400th sec. I stopped and saw this guy posing in his stall, who could say no to taking an image of that? The shirt and table cloth of his stall match flamboyantly and brilliantly.

Double Denim.jpg ISO 200, f4, 1/640th sec. You don’t see this kind of fashion that much nowadays, the double denim look. If it was a colder day perhaps he’d have gone the full triple with a jean jacket as well.
