Street Photography – Olympus OM-D EM-5; 77

Another day, another street photography post.

P1010022.jpg 25mm, ISO 400, f4, 1/3200. I was walking along the river on my lunch break and spotted this row of gulls perched in a big long line, I tried to use the curvature of the railing to lead the eye through the image to them and to enclose the large negative space of the walkway itself in the left third of this image.

P1010024.jpg 25mm, ISO 800, f4. 1/250th sec. I tried to position myself so that a line is formed between the man looking away from us and leading to the arcade doorway, the line follows his line of sight across the image and into the distance. I quite like the slight reflections beneath the bollards on the damp pavement here.

P1010027.jpg 25mm, ISO 800, f4, 1/160th sec. This one is all about the lines, the rail line leading off under the distant bridge and beyond, the platform edge following it, the tree line, the paving slabs, the fencing on the right of the platform. Everything in this image is about depth and scaling distance.
