Welcome to another edition of my long running street photography series, as always these are all taken with my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and either 25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux or 17mm M.Zuiko lenses. Comment away and enjoy.
25mm, ISO 800, f1.4, 1/40th sec. I liked the reflections being cast by the lights on the damp paving, creating lines of dark and light across the ground in a pattern
25mm, ISo 800, f1.4, 1/40th sec. One good thing about shooting street in a big city is everyone assumes you’re a tourist, which is good as I spent ages trying to capture this woman blowing smoke into the air. To everyone else I was taking a photo of Big Ben in the background, annoyingly the camera’s auto focus has focused on the base of the street lamp behind her rather than her face but the smoke still looks interesting.
25mm, ISO 200, f4, 1/3200th sec. I saw lines converging all over the place here, in the sky from the plane trails, in the mid ground from the stadium, the ground from the shadows, the pillars rising up into the air and the graffiti covered wall leading off into the distance. With all that’s going on there’s still a distant person framed by all of these lines and led to by the wall and pillars into the centre of the image.
25mm, ISO 800, f1.4, 1/50th sec. Another image that was all about the light casting itself on the damp paving, this time with the added shadows of the shoppers passing below the streetlights. There’s lines leading your eye through the centre of the image here too, the paving to the right frames the woman on one side while the repeating streetlights above do from the left and above as they curve off into the distance.
Great use of light reflecting off the walkways, and very well exposed!!
