Ho Pendolare

“Pendolare” is the Italian verb to describe something being like a pendulum going back and for, and also used to describe commuting to and from work. About a year ago the office that the company I work for moved from an out of town and drive-able location to a new building in the city centre, meaning I could no longer drive to work and now had to catch a train. Because of this I realised I had time to read a lot more on the journey and also be able to take a camera with me and document my journey. For the last 12 months this is what I’ve been doing. I decided to go with the title as it happened to be a word I picked up during one of my Italian language classes and I thought it sounded a bit more interesting than boring old English.

Below are some of the images I made across the last year on my regular journey, they’re from a variety of film stocks and cameras and are both digital and analogue, including; Olympus OMD EM5, Olympus OM-1 and Canon AE-1 Programme, Ilford FP4 125 and Fomapan Classic 100.  I hope you enjoy and let me know your thoughts.

Cardiff Streets

A few images on the streets of Cardiff (as usual) taken with my Canon AE-1 Programme on a roll of Fomapan Classic 100. Have a couple of rolls of this stuff left, it’s not my favourite black & white film so I’ve been very slow working through it, in fact I think I bought a brick of it over a year ago now, but it’ll do. Anyway have a peruse through these and let me know your thoughts.
