Haven’t posted any street photography images taken on film for some time and as I stumbled across a few old scanned images taken with my Leica IIIc the other day I thought I’d share some now, also I have some more from my Olympus OM-1 to share soon too so why not resurrect this series? All the below are with my Leica and on Fomapan Classic 100, probably taken around May or June last year.
I stumbled across a few scanned images taken with my Leica IIIc many, many months ago that I’d completely forgotten about, probably because most of them are badly focused or exposed, due to me being abysmal at using a rangefinder. However there was a few among the garbage that were interesting, this one for example that I completely forgot I took of my Dad, eyeing up military antiques in a shop window (it was either that or Rugby memorabilia, he’d be a stickler for either if it’s in the shop window on display).
Leica IIIc, Industar 50mm 1:3.5, Fomapan Classic 100 (more…)
Haven’t shared any of these for a while, it’s time for the, ahem “artistic” images taken on my Leica IIIc with Fomapan Classic 100. Yeah artistic rather than bleeding awful and out of focus sounds good doesn’t it? As usual taken on the streets of Cardiff (technically some in Penarth as well).
Another selection of street images taken on my |Leica iiic with Fomapan Classic 100, this time around a bit more in focus (at last).

A return to some street photography taken on Fomapan Classic 100 around Cardiff with my Leica IIIc, as usual most of these are out of focus and frankly terrible but one or two are quite nice. Let me know your thoughts.

Another instalment of street images take with my Leica IIIc on Fomapan Classic 100 film, this time most of these are not blurry and horribly out of focus, most.
Love this image, the violinist completely alone in the street playing away. (more…)
Welcome to another entry of what has become an “artistic” version of street photography, yes that’s my excuse for them all being horribly out of focus and I’m sticking with it. More images taken on my Leica IIIc with 50mm lens on Fomapan Classic 100, mostly horribly blurred but I’m sharing them anyway. Annoyingly most of these look ok as thumbnails, ah what flaw’s a tiny image can hide.
I haven’t posted many street photography images taken on film for a while, two reason’s for this; firstly I haven’t shot as much black & white as I usual recently and secondly, because the last roll I had developed left me a bit disheartened, the vast majority of the shot’s in my opinion were crap.
However I’ve scanned them all in and after looking at them I’ve decided to share them anyway, some are quite nice, lots are blurry and out of focus, but I think that has given them a particular charm. Granted it’s because I am pretty useless with a rangefinder and not because I’m trying the emulate a 1930’s street photography style.
So the next few post’s in this series are going to be along this vein, all are taken on Fomapan Classic 100 and all using my Leica IIIc with 50mm lens.
Some lovely Leica’s, everyone’s favourite astronomically expensive German manufacturer of camera bits and bobs. All images taken on Agfa Vista Plus 200 film using my Olympus OM-1 and 50mm F.Zuiko 1:1.8 lens.
So I went to the UK Photography Show in the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham yesterday, as I did last year as well. The main reason I go is to grab as many freebies as possible and to play with equipment I have no hope of ever having enough money to afford, check a big win on both of those counts. Firstly getting to use the new Fuji X-Pro 2 for the whole day was pretty cool, all I had to do was turn up early enough fill in a form and hand over my I.D. and it was mine for the day. Secondly getting to play around with some expensive equipment, Leica, Hassleblad and Sony A7’s for example. And thirdly, and best of all, getting a ton of free stuff from Olympus after seemingly making an impression on them with my OM-1 and having a private session with the new Pen F, in exchange for letting them film me talk about why I use Olympus for street photography and how their sensor and lens cleaning service they had going on there was so good. I’ve said it before and I will say it yet again, I am an Olympus fan boy through and through, this has cemented it even more.
Anyway’s I took a few shot’s at the show as well, enough to split in to two separate post’s so below is the first set and there’ll be another set to follow soon. All These were taken on my Olympus OM-D EM-5 (well it would be rude not to after how nice they were) with Panasonic Leica Summilux 25mm lens. Enjoy
