Long exposure

Incoming Tide

I’ve been visiting some friends in Cornwall for the last week, hence the lack of updates on this blog, one of which happens to be a photographer. We went out whenever we could to take photos, weather permitting, and this is one from one of the times we did get out.

Foggy Shoreline

Another image taken the same day as this, a foggy day with a little bit of hazy sunshine breaking through but for a very limited time. I used a neutral density filter and a long (ish) exposure to capture the look of the sea as it started coming in and washing over the pebbles.

Foggy Beach

Was a very foggy day when I decided to head to the coast and shoot some landscape images for the first time in a while. The mist and fog is exactly the reason I came here, I wanted to get the look of the pier disappearing not just into the distance but also out of sight as the fog enveloped it. The long exposure meant that the incoming tide ended up looking similar to the fog in the air, sweeping over the pebbles and semi obscuring them.
