St Ives
Beach #2
Vespa
A Summer’s day, people enjoying the sunshine, the seagulls thankfully not mobbing you for the ice cream in your hand, and then stumbling across this, cool, classic styling in a small package, parked up in a picturesque location. Lighthouse
A couple of images of the lighthouse that stands on the Harbour wall in St Ives, Cornwall. Both are taken with my Nikon FM with 28mm lens on Agfa Vista Plus 200 film. Personally I prefer the first one, the whole image just jumps out as a classic rule of thirds image but the cloud pattern in the right hand side of the shot I think helps make it more than just empty space their to compliment the main focus of the photograph itself. This first shot is taken at f16 1/500th sec.
That’s not to say I don’t like the second image as well, I think the comparison in size that can be seen between the lighthouse and the metal bollard used for tying ships up to the dock works well and it’s taken in portrait, something I think you’ll have noticed by now I rarely do. This is at f22 1/250th second.
