The sixty sixth edition of my street photography series taken with my Olympus OM-D EM-5 and also the final lot of images taken on the streets of Venezia and Firenze back in the Summer, as always please comment if you want to let me know what you think.
17mm M.Zuiko, ISO 800, f1.8, 1/4000th sec. The train pulling in the Mestre station to make the short journey across the lagoon to Venezia Santa Lucia, the contrast of shadow and light is what I was aiming for here with the bold shadow leading down the platform and along the train into the distance.
25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, ISO 200, f4, 1/60th sec. A busy Venetian street, most of the crowd blurred as they hurry past except the girl on the right who is perfectly focused as she moves through the masses.
25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, ISO 400, f4, 1/500th sec. A standard side street in Venezia, empty except for the few signs and windows, the street leading towards the small group in the distance and the steps that lead over a canal. The contrast again between light and shadow is profound, the one side of the street in bright sunlight, the other total shadow.
25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, ISO 400, f4, 1/2500th sec. A waiter doing his job well? potential customers checking out the menu on the window while he stares off into the middle distance at something more interesting.
25mm Panasonic Leica Summilux, ISO 800, f1.4, 1/13th sec. Another image with a crowd, albeit slightly less people involved this time, where most are out of focus or blurred except the central figure of the boy in the dark t shirt walking with his head down listening to the guy next to him.
Enjoying that Venezia one where the sky and the ground ‘blend’ with the narrowness of it 🍸
